The F&B giants

I’m sure you’ve seen this picture before, if you haven’t welcome back I’m glad you’ve decided to come out of your hiding place.

I think the picture says it all: your favorite brands are owned by 10 F&B Multinational companies (MNC) in the world., known as the "Big 10". You know those brands that are so loyal to you on a Friday/Saturday night, or when you’re crying over someone or when you’re just very very hormonal… You get the idea!

Over time, these international companies - that can be counted on both hands - have been acquiring smaller scale companies that are, grant you, huge companies in terms of social and global reach. I still get the occasional surprise when I find out that a chocolate brand is owned by X company or that X ice cream is under the reign of Y company, that’s how much of an empire these companies have built for themselves
